Today, two of our dear friends from CFC Singles for Christ (SFC) visited us in Freadom Project to conduct one of our most healthiest session this year. Let me share with you their stories and how they inspired us to CHANGE OUR LIFESTYLE.

Alvin Guinto is serving as a Chapter Leader of SFC in San Mateo. He used to weigh 266 lbs until he was invited to join a contest held by Gold's Gym last May 2015.That was his game changer. The Biggest Loser challenged has been his platform to transform his unhealthy lifestyle.

With proper discipline and guidance from his trainers from Gold's Gym, Alvin lost almost 51 lbs during the contest season and he landed winning the 3rd spot of the Biggest Loser Challenge. He started working for Gold's Gym since then and until now is maintaining his healthy routine.

With him was Elaine Feraer. She is also a member of SFC and they both serve in serving youths from Gawad Kalinga before. I would hardly recognize Elaine today if not because of Facebook. I remembered Elaine as one of our fellow servants in SFC who is always jolly and she never runs out of food. She used to be a 'big' girl as some may say because of her overweight size before.

But today, after many years of seeing her, I was amazed to see her so fit and sexy. From a waistline of 41 inches in 2013, she now bear a 28-inch waistline as a result of her 8-month weight loss routine. She now works as a chef in a cruise ship and is now about to board again in a few weeks time.

Both of them had shared a lot about shifting to a healthier lifestyle. They discussed about the 5 causes of deaths worldwide and how a healthy lifestyle can save us from them.

Elaine shares her knowledge about food preparation and what healthy options parents can prepare for their growing kids.

Kids too had fun by joining Kuya Alvin and Ate Elaine on some fun exercises to energize them.

I myself had some lessons that I brought home from the session.

#1. Diet is not about skipping meals to lose weight. Diet is primarily eating healthy and nutritious foods that can help strengthen our body.

#2. Living a healthy lifestyle is not just for our personal gain. As parents, we primarily do it for our children so we can live longer, serve them more and see the future that is ahead for them.

Thank you Kuya Alvin and Ate Elaine for sparing your time with us. I honor you both for your passion in sharing a healthy lifestyle advocacy. May you inspire more people, including myself, so we can all be motivated to change to a healthier lifestyle.
